Solidarity and Communications launches the National Network for People with Disabilities

Yasser Badry 12-23-2021 The Ministries of Social Solidarity, Communications, and Information Technology in Egypt launched the “National Network for Persons with Disabilities,” which aims to provide them with suitable job opportunities. The new network will work to promote remote work for people with disabilities in Egypt, and overcome the obstacles they face in their working lives. Hoda Dahrouj, Head of the Central Administration for Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, said that the “National Network for Persons with Disabilities” is a continuation of the Ministry’s efforts to empower and raise the capabilities of people with disabilities and provide them with opportunities in the field of technology. Dahrouj continued, “We are working to train our children with disabilities and provide them with appropriate opportunities, after they faced many obstacles, including business owners’ lack of understanding of their abilities and what they can achieve. The new platform will bring together all state services, so that job seekers of determination can meet business owners.” Showing them the opportunities available in different fields.” Dahrouj pointed out that: “Those with special abilities will fill out a form containing their skills, specializations, and everything related to them, so that business owners will have the opportunity to know what roles are appropriate for them.” Dahrouj added that the network is the result of fruitful cooperation between the Ministries of Solidarity and Communications, and that the network was activated recently and it was agreed to implement workshops in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity. We also chose a day to organize a conference (Mobaderoon) with the help of people of determination who They were responsible for launching the network and working to implement it in the best possible way.” For her part, Walaa Salem, Project Manager for Jobs and Skills for People with Disabilities Using Information Technology, said, “Our goal is to avoid all the obstacles that existed before people of determination, such as the lack of decent and appropriate opportunities, and the business sector’s lack of recognition of their abilities, so we thought about creating a network to bring them together.” In it with employers, who in turn indicate the jobs they have and the qualifications required for the job.” Salem stressed, "We thought that the network would be comprehensive and that it would be a window for them to learn about the services provided to them by the state as a whole, from government agencies, private companies, and civil society organizations, in light of the state's tendency to care for them, appreciate them, and give them a large space." Regarding the method of accessing the network, Salem said, “A person of determination logs into the network and creates his own account that contains all his data, the type of disability, the experiences he has developed, and his level of education. Employers provide information about the job they have and the qualifications required for it, and whether the company has space available for a person with a disability.” what".
